Updated Belly Photos

I added just a couple more photos. I think what this shows is that the changes REALLY start happening after the 30 week mark.
With 6 days until my due date I am looking forward to a few things:
  • Tying my shoes without grunting
  • Getting out of bed in less than 3 minutes
  • Getting out of bed without grunting
  • Getting out of bed less than 4 times a night (wait this won't change). Edit: Getting out of bed just to pee less than 4 times a night
  • Turning over in bed without a struggle
  • Eating close to the table
  • Eating without heartburn
  • Wine
  • Getting in and out of the car without grunting
  • Not wearing ugly maternity clothing
  • Walking faster than a duck waddle
  • Wine. (Worth mentioning again.)

Just the two of us...

Over Easter, Aaron and I decided to go on our first and LAST vacation ALONE together!  Since we get Good Friday and the Monday after Easter off work, we took a quick trip to Sunshine Coast, Australia.

Flew into Brisbane on Thursday night - just a 3 hour direct flight from Dunedin.

This was our view from the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Brisbane.
It reminded me a bit of Austin with the river thru the city and rolling hills in the back ground.

That morning, we woke up and drove directly to Caloundra - where our apartment was located.  Little beach town off Sunshine Coast about 2 hours North of Brisbane. A little bit dated, but me and aaron didn't care. We just wanted to relax.  The town was situated on an estuary so it was different than what I was used to growing up and taking trips to Florida where you step out of the condo onto white beaches. But it was cute with the kids catching fish in the river and then seeing the ocean so close by. I wish I had taken a picture to show you guys exactly what it looks like.  Aaron and I ate at a cafe by the ocean/river and just people watched that day.  Later that night, since it was Good Friday, we ate at our resort for dinner and had an early night.

The next two days, we drove north to various beaches along the coast.

Last morning at the coast... Aaron never so happy as when he has his paper and the coffee

Back to Brisbane for one last night, Aaron and I sat at a German Beer Bar on the edge of the Brisbane River.

So happy that me and aaron had one more get-away before the Mini invades our lives!!!!!

Big, Bigger and Even Bigger

Well, there is no denying it, I have been horrible at updating our blog. But who can blame me... I have been tired and preoccupied!
Here are some pictures to document how much I have changed in a few short (or long if you are me) months!

Rugby World Cup 2011

It is here. Finally. We have been hearing about it non-stop for YEARS. The Rugby World Cup 2011 is in New Zealand.  I am not sure if there is anything in America that compares to the World Cup. Perhaps like Dallas hosting the Super Bowl, but it is BIG. Believe me. This is Big for this little country of 4 million.

The opening ceremony was on Friday night, followed by the first game: New Zealand vs Tonga. With the All Blacks winning of course.

Aaron's business partner, Mike and his girlfriend came down for the first game in Dunedin -  Argentina vs England - and took me and Aaron with them to the game.  Dunedin was ALIVE with people and it actually reminded me of a "big" city atmosphere.

We all decided to support the underdogs, Argentina, as Mike owns a business there. Unfortunately England won, but jusssst barely.

The Fish Monger as Don Corleone

Our good friends, Rhys and Maria asked Aaron to be their second child's Godfather.   What a special thing for Aaron. We absolutely love the Tait family and Aaron couldn't be happier to be a part of  Charlie's life.

Here are some pictures of the Christening...

Skiing Round Hill with the Whites

YAY!  Haley and Chris are in New Zealand FINALLY!!!! So, we met up with them last weekend for lunch at Haley's favorite restaurant and then this weekend we met them in Twizel for a ski weekend.

Round Hill is a really small "club"field an hour outside of Twizel. Great for families (everyone has small children but me and Aaron). Had so much fun skiing with Haley again after about 10 years.

Gwen turned 90

Before we left for "The Big Texas Wedding," Aaron's fantastic grandmother turned 90 and we had a big party for her with all the family and her close friends.

We visited Gwen today in the hospital and things are not looking very good. I feel very lucky to have these good memories fresh in my mind. Gwen was such an energetic and optimistic person... such a joy to be around.
