Aaron's new toy
Aaron spent 3 hours the other weekend cutting our hedges... I felt sorry for him because it was cold and miserable and our hedge is forever long -- however, I never felt sorry enough to go out there and help him. hehehe

Radio Hauraki Fight Night
Most weekends in Dunedin consist of pretty much the same thing... 1 night out in the town and the next night dinner at friends' houses with all their kids and such. Last weekend, we had a weekend that was a bit out of the ordinary. The Radio Network sponsored a Dunedin Fight NIght. Mel and I had gone to a Muay Thai fight in Thailand and this was pretty dang similar (except with White people), but they call it cage fighting here. The whitest trash people of dunedin were out in full effect. And it was great.
Free booze, free food, hot chicks and a free fight night... Aaron seemed to be in Heaven. 15 rounds of guys getting the shit beat outta them never ever got boring.
Check out the pictures below!

Aaron vs NZ ducks. Aaron 90, Ducks 0.
First weekend in May = the kick off of Duck Season. God help us all.
About three months in prior to "the big weekend" the boys start planning and calling and bantering...then more calling and more planning and even more duck shooting banter. Then FINALLY it is time for the duck shooting weekend and I feel fairly confident I can speak for the other girls when I say we are sooo ready for them to go and get it over with. Just go and kill something, go and drink beer and shoot guns (nice combo), go wear cameo, go be boys.
Aaron took his fancy iPhone with him into the hunting and gathering wild and took these pictures/videos.
This is for you Dad, Jack and Chris... enjoy.

Easter
I forgot I took these photos over our Easter break. Here in New Zealand you get both Good Friday and the following Monday off for Easter... so Aaron and I took advantage of the long break and drove to Tekapo for the night, rented an amazing apartment and hung out with some friends that were there from Christchurch. The next night we drove to Nasby and stayed with our good friends, Tim and Marcelle. On the way to Nasby, Aaron stopped by his favorite fishing spot in the Dansey's Pass for a quick shot at catching a trout.

I like to call this next video, "Crack Kills and White Trash"... this is so typical me and aaron.

Sunday Morning Flounder Fishing
Sunday morning, Damon organized for us all to go Flounder Fishing in Waitati - the small beach city where Damon and Aaron grew up. The boys talk about catching bins and bins of flounder growing up, so I was looking forward to getting a taste of what the boys used to do LOOONG before Harbour Fish. This was my first flounder fishing experience and I assume most of you back home haven't done this either, so I took lots of pictures.
First you row the net around in a semi-circle. Once the net is out in the water, two of us on the beach grab the two sides of the net and begin pulling it back toward the beach at the same time. You continue this until the net is completely on the beach. If you are lucky, there will be little flounder fish freaking out in the net.

My babies is grow'n up....
My babies aint so much babies anymore.
Rico used to be the runt, but he is huge now. I can't wait to see how big he gets. He is no longer the perfect angel he used to be...he beats up on Russell and loves to tear up the sheep mom sent him from home.

The Ric-Man
Russell is still just so desperate to be right next to you ALWAYS. The closer to your face... the better.

Camping with Sam and Becs
Yesterday, me and Aaron and Sam and Becs went camping! We were supposed to go to Purakanui Bay, but the weather was awful in Dunedin and all around the coast of the Catlins, so instead we went to a friend of a friend of a friend's land an hour and half away near Nasby. The spot was perfect! Little spot away from road noise with a beautiful creak flowing nearby. We cooked a veggie risotto for dinner and then sat around the fire and drank 3 bottles of wine (oops). Then this morning we cooked eggs and had a nice breakfast before packing up and heading home! So glad to have fun friends like Sam and Becs!

Check out the spot!
